Radgee says...
I think funding is totally a geographical matter going back to wee lads statement lol at luncarty i think what he has posted is an absolute disgrace regardless if your team is good bad or indifferent they obviously have individuals who spend a lot of time running the club so please some respect

wat i meant radge is startin off at junior level ur gonna take time to build ur team up but when they start no matter wat there team is gonna be like they will be better than luncarty .

thats my opinion as luncarty signed 3 , 4 or maybe more 3rd division amateur players from letham united which to compete at that level is crazy as their scores show.

no dis respect intended

Well done Breadalbane 90, that's what I say.
It's not east getting funding, but if you signal your intention to provide the commitment, time, money and effort and the right planning by way of equipment and facilities from the Grassroots level all the way up so kids have an opportunity to develop and grow and have various options available, whether its playing at amateur, junior or even senior level, then there is plenty of funding out there you just need to be prepared to go get it.

As for a club with a strong sense of community spirit, good facilities, being run in a professional mannor. That's what ambition is all about, you might not be the best in the country, but certainly being the best in your area is positive waves moriarity - more of this please - Pure dead Fandabi dosi!

The only places in Perth and Kinross that have a slight advantage over others georgaphically in terms of getting funding are Rattray, North Perth (Muirton and North Muirton) and Letham. This is because they are seen as regeneration areas by the Council. Highland Perthshire doesn't fall into this catagory so believe me we weren't just given money we worked very hard to get it (most of it from the proceeds of crime that wee lad talked about).

It is extremely unlikely any other Amateur or Junior Club would receive funding without a youth policy in place (boys and girls). Some Clubs are taking the long term view and will see the benefits down the line:
Letham are about to become Perth and Kinross's 2nd SFA Community Club after Breadalbane - I am sure some substantial funding will come their way.
Jeanfield Swifts and Jeanfield Amateurs are part of an excellent set up with a boys and girls structure - this will see a strong future for them.
Scone Thistle is working on a similar structure in Scone.

Unless other Clubs try and take a long term view of their Club they may be left behind in terms of facilities in the future. Not that I am saying it is the right thing for every Amateur Club but I personally would rather be at a Club with a strong sence of Community spirit, a good pitch, changing rooms and training facilities. Must be a couple of players from St Johns/Roselea that would like that eh?

your right mate its gettin some people to get it started and depends on the local counciller but if uv got a good backing go for it. Teams in Perth should apply for grants and try get the money from crime put bk into the community. i know they have done it in fife with over 100,000 being put bk in. good to see local teams goin that one step further. as for the junior thing i think most teams in the central league would vote u in. more the merrier. one things for sure ull be better than luncarty lol

I wouldn't say grants are anymore readily available in Highland Perthshire than any other part of Perth and Kinross it is just that the Clubs in question make an effort to work for this finance.

Breadalbane have a youth policy that caters for 8 youth teams (boys and girls) from around Highland Perthshire. The Club became only the Second Club in Scotland to achieve the SFA's Community Quality Mark Status and were voted Scotland's grass roots Club of the year in 2007. The youth teams play their matches at Ballinluig, Aberfeldy and Kenmore all of whom have received grants recently.

It has taken a lot of work to get to this stage.

Can some one please explain why funding seems to be readily available up north.

Breadalbane have made tentative steps towards going Junior. They will be receiving a vist from someone from the SJFA shortly to see if the Club meets the criteria. Breadalbane would however want to keep its Amateur status so will be looking to be able to field two adult teams when ready - one at Amateur and one at Junior. Whether they are ready to do this next season or the year after remains to be seen.

Enjoying all the "North Perthshire" chat on the website just now. Football is flourishing here in the sticks. Ballinluig top of the Second, Breadalbane top of the First, both going well in the Scottish. A new team in Kenmore holding their own in the Third. A cracking youth policy in Highland Perthshire which ends up benefiting all our Clubs. A £66k grant just spent on playing facilities in Aberfeldy and Ballinluig looking likely to receive £50k for doing up their changing rooms soon (remember to vote for them on STV Evening news Wed 25th Nov).

Breadalbane have done really well, and fair play to them, junior football is a natural progression for them, and it is about time a team from the heartland were represented in the junior ranks, good set up youth teams, pitch, decent size town and a few diddy teams for feeder clubs ie ballinluig, Vale. I heard another rumour that they could go north into the Highland league, is that a possibility?, looking at who joined that league last year Strathspey Thistle who play out of Granton-on-Spey is no bigger than Aberfeldy, would distance rule them out?

Breadalbane have been working hard with their youth teams and getting some sort of structure all gearing towards junior football, they also have a cracking astroturf floodlit pitch where they train and play friendlies. It would not come as a surprise if they went into the juniors.
Flash the cash and they could get half the Roselea team and that dinamo forward that Letham swapped for a bag o'tatties wi Kennoway!!!!!!!!!
